Someone posted this in the TYSSE thread : https://www.ttc.ca/About_the_TTC/Co...Routes_in_Eglinton_Corridor_for_Line_5_Ra.pdf

I noticed it doesn't show a GO train connection at Mount Denis. Is this really going to be the case? I thought there were going to be connections to GO to provide connections to the airport (notwithstanding the talks about an extended crosstown to the airport).

The GO station is definitely coming, likely to open at the same time as when the Crosstown Line becomes fully operational in 2021.

Probably just an oversight in the TTC Map. It is a map of changing bus services, so showing new GO connections likely got overlooked.

The second paragraph on that GO Mt Dennis page is a real whopper:

"Mount Pleasant will be the western-most stop on Line 5, which will stretch 19 kilometers to the east of Kennedy, with 23 stops in between. The station will offer bike storage, as well as a pick up and drop off area for customers."

Did anybody proofread this before publishing it? Mount Pleasant the westernmost station, going east of Kennedy by 19 kilometers??

I'd agree it's planned, perhaps since it has not been made official or funded yet, the TTC didn't want to illustrate it.

Experts offer ideas on how to fix the dangerous intersection of Eglinton & O'Connor Dr. Which frankly should be implemented all over Scarborough.

These are all good best practices for pedestrian safety, however, it's disappointing that the experts didn't provide any solutions that would improve this unique intersection. The worst part of it is actually at Eglinton/O'Connor and they didn't even touch on that. I think making the curve tighter where O'Connor meets Eglinton and aligning it with the driveway on the northside would have the most significant improvements. Since it would narrow the overall intersection of O'Connor/Eglinton. It would reduce the free flow of traffic from O'Connor north to Eglinton East thereby slowing cars down and giving pedestrians less road surface to cross.

What you're suggesting appears to be part of the plan. I couldn't find more detailed drawings that show the smaller details such as curve radii, however I found this.

You can already tell that the turn radii are still quite oversized in that drawing.
That southeast corner of Vic Park and Eglinton is exceedingly poorly designed for what is direct access to the LRT platform. They need to axe that stub lane on Eglinton, and tighten that right turn, since basically everyone who would turn right on to Eglinton will be turning right on Eglinton Square first.
