Rob Ford's favourite gas station survives the Great Flood of 2028!
As does Rob Ford's old house is on high ground.Rob Ford's favourite gas station survives the Great Flood of 2028!
If you look at this topographic map: https://en-ca.topographic-map.com/map-kcz57/Toronto/?center=43.68408,-79.51082&zoom=16One question from the meeting was if the Scarlett Road portal might be subject to flooding. This map is from the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority Flood Plain Map. Shows that the portal is fine. The tennis courts and Pearen Park are fine.
The golf course, parts of the Eglinton Avenue West and Jane Street berms, Eglinton Flats Park, and the playing pitches, however will flood.

Unless things have change, there will be flood doors at the portalIf you look at this topographic map: https://en-ca.topographic-map.com/map-kcz57/Toronto/?center=43.68408,-79.51082&zoom=16
Scarlett Rd is a good 8-10m above the river. The portal is a good 20m above the river. If it's going to flood, the reason would be a major hurricane stalled over the GTA (would require some major climate change), monsoon season (the tectonic plate we're on to drift to the tropics) or a tsunami (which means a very serious earthquake nearby). All doesn't seem likely and if it did occur, we'll have other major issues to worry about.

That's what we need east of Don Mills to make Crosstown an efficient crosstownHere is a video flyover of the elevated guideway (renderings):
I wonder why they didn't just make one tunnel contract as this one is less than 500 metres. But in any case it seems to me that all the tunneling for Eglinton West LRT will be done before the Eglinton LRT opening itself lol. Great progress on this West LRT extension.Contract awarded.
