Guelph has yet to get threads (other than the library+housing development), and since I spend a good portion of my time in Guelph I thought I'd document a few of the currently progressing developments around Downtown.

The developments around Guelph are much more modest in height compared to surrounding cities, but with all the historical architecture, I see it as a unique feature rather than a detriment.

This building lies just on the outskirts of downtown, and while small by the definitions of most cities in Ontario now, still makes its mark from many vantages. The renders get quite delusional about the forest around this thing, so here's the most 'realistic' render. (Laugh at the others here)

From a great vantage, the tower can be seen just behind the trees and Metalworks. Just to place into context that it is in fact near downtown.

Closer up, the steps down to the river are quite prominent and make for a unique look.

Some ducks came to say hello, not important to the photo, I thought they were cute.

This development is a 14 storey mixed use building with 140 condominium apartment units approved in 2018. The site plan includes an extension of the waterfront trail, and the building is being marketed as Edgewater.

Construction photos looking N across the Speed River and S from Wyndham St S show the exterior is nearly completed

Thanks emphurent, I'm not sure how to tell what threads exist if not on the map

The best way to check is actually on google! Some of these old threads haven't gotten a database listing yet for some reason, so these bumps will help get them on the map.

This can be marked as complete. Nothing in the retail portion yet.

Hi @emphurent, would you classify this as a 2023 completion? If not, if 2024, any chance you or another UT forum contributor might be able to get a beauty shot for us for a year-end poll? Thanks!

I believe it started occupancy around November 2023, as there was a lot if moving activity around the site around then, including fence removals that blocked the trail.
