The panel is driven by leading practicioners of architecture, not just "people with very strong opinions about architecture." Perhaps they know more than you on such matters.
 
I really like how the shape of the windows and cladding reflect the massing of the tower itself. Also, as a big fan of Reve, I love the combination of black and red.
 
Would it not make more sense to wait until the Eglinton Crosstown line is completed before undertaking this kind of development at this location?

What makes sense for the developer is marketing the units while there is still a demand. Potential purchasers will probably be aware that there will be at least a couple years difference between their possession dates and the opening of the new transit line, but I doubt that would dissuade them.

Okay, and perhaps they don't....often these types of panels need to justify their existence by always finding something wrong with whatever project.
 
Love it, but the middle thingy on the taller tower I do not love. What are we calling it these days? Carbuncle? Doing something in the middle is fine, but it needs some chemistry and syncing with the rest of the tower. Anyway, love the design, and the base is superb imo. I grew up right here (most of the time in the intersection), it could use some modern love.
 
this is so early in the development of this, i doubt it will be finished untill 2019 or 2020, when the Eglinton line is supposed to be finished.
