We already know about Burger Priest. According to the other building permit, it will be a Salus Fresh Foods going in. They currently have locations in the Financial District and King West.

I just can't wait for the indoor subway access to open up so I can throw out my Mackage jacket and prance around Eatons Centre in boxer shorts in January and February every year.

RioCan buys 100% of Toronto ePlace rental, retail components

RioCan REIT (REI-UN-T) has paid $114.1 million to acquire the remaining 50 per cent interest of the apartment component, eCentral, the remaining 50 per cent interest in the retail component and 70 commercial parking stalls at the ePlace mixed-use development in Toronto.

ePlace is a 705,000-square-foot mixed-use development comprising:

* 22,000 square feet of retail space;

* 20,000 square feet of fully sold-out commercial office condominium space;

* eCondos, a 58-storey, 623-unit fully sold-out condominium tower with partners Bazis and Metropia;

* and eCentral, a 36-storey, 466-unit rental residential tower.

Retail leasing at ePlace is essentially complete with leases in place for a flagship TD Bank and food service tenants.

I feel like its really good news for the future of the rental property market that companies like RioCan and Choice Properties are seriously getting into owning rental properties.Plus those companies own a ton of land they can turn into rentals.

Burger Priest is open. The little corridor behind Burger Priest is also open (though I'm not really sure the point of it.

There escalators head downstairs where there is nothing much except access to the parking and some bathrooms. Will ultimately lead to subway/LRT.
