I've said so before too, but it cannot be repeated often enough, so, yes, ditto on high-ceilinged ground floors for the city!

They were ripping up the old side walk in front of EastLofts on King Street East in the morning today..

During the tour they said the ground floor glass would go up as soon as the hoarding came down..

I saw this yesterday and was confused as well. I believe it has to do with a new proposed building at the southeast corner of King and Sherbourne. Since EAST owners are within close proximity, the developers thought we should be aware of the hearing and voice any concerns. I believe the proposed development is Bauhaus Condos: http://www.bauhauscondos.com/

At first I thought it was another delay but luckily it didn't have anything to do with the EAST building itself =)

Phew! Thanks!

I thought Bauhaus was dead, I am not looking forward to living next to a construction site after waiting for this one to be done with :)

Would like to see the gas station and greyhound go midrise within the next 10 years.

The Greyhound site is (or was) owned by the TTC and they recently transferred it to the City (as surplus) and the City has transferred it to Build Toronto. BT are trying to sell lots of surplus City property.

Glazing is in most of the retail windows, and the balcony guard rails are up. The King St. sidewalk is in place now, and the Princess St. sidewalk is about ready to be poured.

I'm curious as to what will be installed at the office entrance on King Street. Right now there is a significant galvanized steel frame in front of the glazing above the entrance doors. Suggests something special is to come....
