I really like that @First Gulf is engaging with the community here, posting renderings. I wish this was more the norm.

At first I was concerned that the Portlands (which I think when fully-built out would compliment the First Gulf site beautifully) would be inaccessible by transit. This transit hub may do away with those fears!

I agree - thanks for getting an Urban Toronto account @First Gulf ! That would be by far the most beautiful modern GO Station/transit hub in the GTA, if not Canada. Stay true to your renderings, and you will create a Toronto landmark.

These are designated employment lands, it's probably a non-starter. The area across Lake Shore is envisioned as the high density, mixed use neighbourhood that would house those employed at East Harbour.

You're right, I think, about how that discussion (if it were to occur) would play out; I was mostly musing on the wisdom of that probably inevitable conclusion.

I understand the city's desire to avoid re-designating employment lands for other uses, but I also think this is a pretty unique circumstance, here. That re-designation concern often arises when there's a prospect of the amount of available employment lands decreasing, but however this shakes out (assuming all goes to plan), there's going to be a very significant addition of office space here, and even a couple residential buildings (or building in a residential component to one or more of the planned towers) wouldn't necessarily change that significantly.
