Whimsy is good especially if it leads to function (the truly great Architects are always able to combine both) however when I look at this design it appears that function has been sacrificed somewhat. If balconeys are a selling point (and they must be or why go to the expense of building them) it does not make sense to me to vary greatly from floor to floor the size of this outdoor amenity for the sole purpose of creating visual interest on the exterior

amazing to consider that yorkville will have just about the number 2 skyline in canada in a few years...not that i am one for such intercity pissing contests, it's still impressive.
 
The GTA already has a few skylines...downtown, North York, Mississauga, Hamilton, soon Yorkville.
 
Yep a few more developing ones as well! Although they're mainly low rise.

Hamilton is pushing it a bit....
