So how long will it be before Dennis and Lea reach Yonge?

Tunnelling started at Black Creek on June 5, 2013. See link. The breakthrough at the Allen Road shaft happened in January. So I would give them around 1½ years. Depending upon when they start up the machines again.

I think that both sets of TBMs will launch this summer and all four will reach Yonge in 2016 (I'd guess mid to late).

If I remember correctly non-tunnelling work (stations, eastern part) could begin late this year or next year.

According to Metrolinx President and CEO Bruce McCuaig, Dennis and Lea will be relaunched in June.

Here are my videos.

Took about 15 minutes to move the TBM from West to East.

Lot of problems and the need for cutting torch before the TBM could be move to the hole and lowering it. I gave up at 4:30 am after the lowering issues and behind schedule at this point.

The wheels were very close to the edge on the north side and the best location to get any shots and videos. They had tape up by the north fence around 5 pm on my way home.

The ramp over TTC tunnel was about 3 feet above the road.

About a few 100's out to watch this move with most on the south side.

Photos will follow this week since I shot 870 today and need to tag them as well stitch some of them. Giving my Canon D7 Mark II a test run this weekend, since I got it on Friday with a 18-300 zoom on it. Not the same as my Nikon D7000 and more thing to learn on it.

Don't get a change in a life time to see this. When you do, you go for it.

Your video is private, drum.
The site is saying public for all 5 and other have view them.

Not the first time someone has said this and I have always tag them public.

I dropped by for a quick look tonight. It was cool.. literally, it was a cold night

But yeah, the atmosphere of an empty Eglinton with the machines lit by flood lighting in the suspended middle of the road was kind of surreal. Better than most Nuit Blanche exhibits ;)

I heard a rumour that the drive across the ramp might be happening before 2pm tonight. If you're planning on going tonight don't wait too long. I was just there and Lea was hanging in mid-air when I left.

I wish I knew this earlier! I arrived to find out they got the ok to do it early so I missed everything. I broke my sleep into 2 parts tonight so I could see the move and make it into work tomorrow. Extremely disappointed and really upset with Metrolinx to say the least. They announced at 10PM that it would start at 10:30PM instead of 2AM.

Yeah, really messed up that diner meetup too. Over 100 people had planned to meet there, not sure exactly how many of them managed to make it down early.

I was down there again in the evening because Metrolinx had said earlier than Lea would begin to be raised at 7 PM, but when I got there, that had been pushed back to midnight. Then when I got home, Lea was above ground and they said the move would actually start at 10:30 PM rather than 2 AM. I get why they did it early, but it's got to be frustrating for those who planned their whole weekend around this, especially since Metrolinx themselves were promoting that diner meetup on Sunday morning.

They clean the TBM up before bring it to the surface and look like they replace a few teeth on it.

Twin dolly used to this 400 Tonne TBM that had 48 wheels on each one.

Lot more up on site

Thanks for posting! Way more people than I would've thought. Huge sign of transit progress, a 10km tunnel on Eglinton is a huge deal for Toronto.

I think this is a good time to whip out the good old Toronto Subway song!
