Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I am more concerned about supply chain disruptions than construction disruption.

Maybe it is for the best that the Crosstown construction has already been delayed, because I can imagine that the disruption may cause delays in the delivery of Alstom LRT vehicles.

Crosstown isnt getting any Alstom vehicles. Just Flexity Outlook. Hurontario and Finch are getting Alstom. There was only a threat to Bombardier that Alstom would be used in lieu of a big delay by Bombardier.

Where exactly is track level for cedarvale crosstown going to be. Trying to make complete sense of this picture.

Looks like the thing running across the picture (with the tarp on top) is the Line 1 tunnel which runs north-south. The camera is looking east-west. When the excavation gets a little deeper, the tunnel for Crosstown will be formed and will run under the Line 1. Effectively, the camera is pointed looking along the Crosstown's path . Imagine an LRV where that excavator is sitting.

But will the Eglinton line extensions also get the same bombardier vehicles.
I'm under the impression that these are extensions, so they will operate as part of Line 5. Therefore, I find it very unlikely that ML/TTC will operate two different manufacturer's trainsets on the same line, because of the difficulty in operating separate maintenance infrastructure at EMSF. Ultimately, EMSF should have double the capacity of starting operations, and I expect it to be all filled by Flexities.

How far down are they going ?

They had to do something similar to the original Bloor Station on Line 1 to create the Yonge Station on the "new" Line 2. Went from a surface transfer between the Bloor streetcars and the underground Line 1, to another underground station for Line 2.

Assuming that the as-built won't vary too greatly from the EA drawings, the bottom of the station box for the Crosstown will be almost 7m below the bottom of the subway tunnel structure.

Ok thanks, so they got like 7m to excavate

Glass and asphalt – Crosstown takes more than transit tracks and tunnels, including bike lanes at Keelesdale station (New images)

In the light of day, Eglinton Crosstown requires finishing touches that are far above the tunnels we often focus on in our weekly photo galleries.

The light rail transit (LRT) project, which will boast 25 stations and more than 19 kilometres of rail, is now seeing some nuanced features that will make the system liveable for customers. They may seem common, but they speak volumes about being able to see clearer what stations and stops will look like when the project is finished.

Take, for example, this first look at a raised bike lane at Keelesdale station, as final road restoration commences around the station. Where the LRT is underground, crews are building two kilometres of bicycle tracks in front of stations, while the city of Toronto is designing eight kilometres of cycle tracks between the stations.

As well, the writing is on the wall for progress at Science Centre Station. At least when it comes to actual branding of the hub, where letters are being placed on the exterior glass at the station’s southwest corner.

And fine, beyond the more common work, we also just happen to have a pretty cool recent image taken below ground. Take a look at this shot as excavation progresses downward under the subway tunnel for Cedarvale Station – light can be seen shining through from the opposite side.
