Today there was a police officer placed at the intersection of Holly and Eglinton to stop people from jay walking across Eglinton.

I encountered the police officer confronting someone who must have just jay walked and the officer was asking to see his ID. Serious business.

I thought the plan was to eventually shift the station North? Isn’t it already South?

Regardless, the trees were removed to construct a new ventilation system for the station, not for the platform shift.

they are essentially rebuilding the platform 70 metres further north to improve transfers between the two lines. The south 70 metres of the platform closes, the north end gets extended north by 70 metres, and some new escalators and stairs are punched in.
