From today:
3 years is fairly standard for collective agreements. Sometimes you see 4 (Notably this is what the City has been pushing for recently with its unions to make it match the length of a council/mayoral term). Rarely you get more or less than that, but the average is generally 3 years in North America.…is it every three years that the trades renegotiate their collective contracts?
I guess this makes sense due to how economic situations can change drastically in three years making the previous agreement redundant.
