Man, this park is surrounded by some of the most abysmal architecture in the city. They really should have proposed more trees to hide as much of its surroundings as possible.

I passed by the site this afternoon. There was only one person working and he was laying some pipe in one of the (dirt) beds. I'm very concerned about the eastern arm arm of the park that leads to Yonge Street. I hope it's done well but I'm feeling sceptical.

They should have signs that tell people not to feed pigeons, and fine them $500 if they do so. The area was becoming a giant toilet for pigeons - you couldn't sit anywhere and enjoy lunch because the feces was everywhere. I hope it doesn't go right back to it upon the completion of this project.

I wish the city had broken up this crazy superblock by creating a real street from Yonge to Bay south of College Park while it was still possible. In such an awkward location you end up with parkspace that'll need to be 'revitalized' every decade.

I'm pretty sure there used to be a street there, which was closed to create Barbara Ann Scott Park.
