It was tweeted today by a few reporters at the site visit that the new elevators won't be done.

Judging by that photo that drum posted, there is no way that elevator will be done by May 10. Maybe I will eat my words, but I would be extremely shocked.

Thanks...had not seen those tweets about the elevator. Although it is worth noting that that elevator is on the west side....not sure why after 8 years they decided that was needed. There is an elevator just inside that gate (which is only for suite holders, players, officials, media and seats in section 123) so perhaps they wanted an elevator up to the press box area (and the two new party patios they put in last year) so that people did not have to pass through that gate to get to an elevator.

sure but it wasn't needed for the first 8 years and, as I said, there is an elevator inside that door now and the press have been using it for 8 years. My bet it is it is just something they have added on to the project to make it easier to get people up to those patios without going into the building cluttering the halways inside that area. Those patios up there only came into existence last year so that is the only thing that has changed on the west side of the building in the last 8 years.

I was part of a tour of the construction at BMO field today with Tim Leiweke and two members of each TFC supporters group. Still a lot of work to be done. Occupancy inspection is tomorrow. Sorry some of the pictures are out of order. I took the pictures with my S5.

A bit of info on the roof situation:
They have begun work on the foundations that will support the roofs. The timeline will see more work begin in October and by November, the installation will begin. Tim said the aim is to have it done by next April. I also believe he said the roof will be raised in one piece. That would be quite a spectacle.

The new elevator appears to serve the South end of the stand, while the original elevator was slightly to the North. It wasn't that big a deal when it was only rarely used as an accessible seating section however, as mentioned, with expanded party patios up there they probably felt it was better to put an elevator in instead of having drunken louts walking through the media box.

How exactly will the CFL Field fit into BMO. I understand that it is about 32m longer.

On the right, with the removal of the lower seats, it looks like you can gain the needed 16m - although maybe not quite. Are those seats easily removable?

On the left side, are those seats moveable. They would have to move back about 16m, or are they removed completely.

Would the end zones be artificial turf and the the main field be natural grass.

What I understand is that the south end is removed and replaced with a new stand that has its first 6 - 10 rows being retractable.
North end seats are removed and largely replaced with a set-back party patio type situation.
End zones are turf and a wee bit shorter than the current CFL standard.
