My office is a block away and the speed at which this complex is being built is remarkable to me (especially compared to other much smaller projects, such as the Yonge-Eglinton Centre expansion, which started within a couple of months of this one).

Active mall versus an empty space helps. Also, a lot of the underground work here was done when the first phase was built.

They didn't have to drill caissons and dig a hole but, still has shore up the parts of the garage and tear out others. It's just a high profile project with an aggressive timeline that must be met.

I noticed yesterday in the underground that they have taken all of the ceiling down now and have moved the interior hoarding to give them more room to work.
