Toronto Aqualina at Bayside | 47.85m | 13s | Tridel | Arquitectonica

I still say that Ontario Place is the would-be location for a world class tourist attraction and facility should one ever be built on Toronto's waterfront.

It is a bit far from the core but with a WWLRT routed through there, that instantly becomes a non-issue.

It appears from the webcam that shoring was completed today. Excavation is on going.

Haha, ground breaking today:D

Construction breaks ground at Bayside Toronto development siteTORONTO – Developers and city officials are holding a ceremony to break ground on a $910-million residential and commercial development for Toronto’s waterfront on Friday.

Aqualina, the first building in the 13-acre Bayside Toronto project, is as a mix of residential, employment, cultural and commercial space.

It is the first of eight buildings slated for construction as part of the Toronto waterfront makeover

As we have seen with lots of other ground-breakings, the event and the actual start of work are not very tightly related sometimes. The event is staged when they can get the people they want, the dig starts when they have the approvals and the equipment onsite. Aura is probably the most belated of the ground-breakings that I remember: they were at least as deep as can be seen above but in a pit that was three times the size.
