They've extended another layer of site barriers so the photo lookout points aren't so great anymore, but you can still kind of see the excavation progress.

In the 80's there was an ugly mint green Italian supermarket here. I used to gawk at it as a kid when going to the dentist across the street.

I love mint green as a colour, but that building was ugly and dilapidated!

Oldest possible Google street view snippet from 2007 of the previous building, when it used to be Blockbuster Video.
I'd reckon that the general structural shape and roof may have been the same when it was the supermarket, just with the facade in mint green.

Yes. Just faded and dirty mint green plaster cladding that was cracked and crumbling. I recall there being rounded arches as well.

The store was called Darrigo's.
It was an Italian grocer.
Found that here, haven't dug up a picture yet:
