To be fair, the grey doesn't actually look that shade in person. I think a filter was applied to the photo that makes it look much more drastic than it is.

I wouldn't touch that area of the building to buy in to be honest. Give yourself a bit of time. Once the units start occupying you will see stuff ready for assignment to purchase. that back area will be noisy from vehicles and garbage removal and potentially smelly if the garbage area isn't handled well. (even for a rental.. you don't want complaining tenants).

Builder not allowing assignments once occupancy. You wont be able to view unit before buying.
