I'm so sad they are knocking any of it
What a great heritage structure to house a farmers/antique market, this city is crazy for letting them touch it...for what?, for this:eek::(

That's true. Any hope of Liberty Village having even a chance of having a Distillery District-like attraction is gone. It could have make a great market/theatre/event space.

Canalfa launched a website to lease 18,000sqft of space for retail purposes.

Might also want to change Liberty Storage Warehouse to A.R. Williams Machinery Co. building.

Are they still going through with the horrid plan to tear down half of the building at a later period of time?

The Site Plan Approval application for the north half of the building is still filed with the City, so yes, I take it that they are still planning that.

This is definitely a building worth saving as is. Not only is it an interesting warehouse in what is supposed to be an historic factory district (...) but the building itself has a cool bit of history attached to the east wall (if I remember correctly). It's one of the only remaining parts of the Central Prison besides the chapel in Liberty Village park. The wall is obvious from this perspective on Google streetview.

It's not much but it's just one more notch against this project.

The interior is a striking heritage industrial space, with historic exposed metal framing and a large pitched roof rising above a clerestory. It's as important as the exterior. This development proposal is a bizarre mishmash of old and new that doesn't dignify the old building at all.
