Toronto 60 Richmond Street East | ?m | 11s | TCHC | Teeple Architects

Once the rest of the cladding arrives this project should really stand out as a true beauty. Kudos to all those involved in this project.

Sleek cladding!

I can't wait to see this baby finished :) Keep the updates coming! :)

Wow. Quite a winner.

I have to say that I am continually impressed by the architecture being bankrolled by the TCHC. Say what you want about Derek Ballantyne, but he definitely has a vision, and I find his determination to put the best architects to work on social housing is a wonderful return to a tradition neglected since about when Mies built Lafayette Park.

I don't think gardens can feed inhabitants any more than they can cleanse the air. We need massive fields and massive forests for that, respectively.

But they certainly do add to the charm and livability of a place.

From a distance the cladding almost looks like slate but up close it doesn't look nearly as attractive, very industrial looking. And if you look at UD's pix above it looks even worse because of the uneven surface.
