I like the runs of aluminum panels which appear between some of the windows… but they are not using them on enough of the building (of course). Would it have blown the budget to use those in place of the back-painted glass spandrel panels that proliferate elsewhere on the elevations?

Since it likely would have cost more, (even if not a lot more), and as there's no compunction amongst developers and architects about using back-panted glass spandrel now, if we really hate it, and we seem to, especially the gray stuff, we need to be the agents of a cultural change for what is architecturally acceptable in Toronto.

How do we best shame them out of it? A concerted effort on Twitter? A photo, building identified, plus developer and architects named, plus #TorontoShame and #GrayGlassSpandrel?

I hate grey spandrel. But it doesn't bother me so much here. Perhaps because it looks better than my low expectations? Maybe cause it's on the charcoal side and there is some contrast? Or maybe because it's just not done yet. But so far I actually think it's better than I was expecting. Also it helps that there isn't much grey spandrel nearby.
