There are only so many ways architects can differentiate a building with balcony plays. At some point condos are going to look like ‘60s-‘70s Toronto apartment buildings - hard to distinguish one from the other.

It's not the balconies since functionality is clearly not a prerequisite. The plays are only limited to the designer's creativity . We are just at the limits of creativity among Toronto architects with another black and white colour block clone of Lagos, YC, DNA3.

For the record, the building was approved at July Council with amendments made to the proposed Zoning Bylaw that mostly affected the rental replacement units. That's why it was held instead of being dealt with immediately: anything that Council needs an explanation for before a vote gets held until after the 'quick release' items (which are deemed to not require questions or debate) are handled.Held By Kristyn Wong-Tam
