Marketing has begun for 55 Mercer, a 47-storey condominium coming to Toronto's Entertainment District, designed by IBI Group for CentreCourt, and located where Wayne Gretzky's restaurant and the Second City comedy club are currently located.

The renders are hilarious. Without the beam of light doubling its height, this is going to look like every other 40-50 storey building in the area

That's not necessarily a bad thing. I'd quibble that not all 40-50 storey buildings in the area look alike. Really depends on which one / group you're picking on...

By looking at the photos of above. The new rendering of this building really compliments with the building next to it that's being developed. By using Square like windows frames and earth tone colours. These two projects should enhance this part of the neighborhood!
