The distance is already around 25 metres.. There is a holdout parcel between this and Fashion House, plus Fashion House's driveway. The renders make it look closer than it actually is.

That's fairly plain. Well executed I'm sure, but very simple. Trying not to detract from BIG across the street?
This is way too simple for King West. To be honest I dont think anything could really detract from BIG unless it was a hot pile of garbage, which thankfully this one isnt. Nevertheless, a lot more imagination couldve been used for this one.
 
Is that project even going ahead?? i haven't heard anything and there hasn't been been a post on that thread for the past 6 months

Revised Zoning Amendment application for residential, office and restaurant/retail uses in a single building form of varying heights framing a large publicly accessible open courtyard. Please note that the property at 485 King Street West (initially part of the site with an existing heritage building which was not being altered) has been removed from the proposed development site. Please review the attached letter dated Oct. 6, 2017 for a description of the changes to the proposal. It's a nice thought but would be impossible without covenants across the 548 King / Belfast Love property. Fashion House only owns a small portion of the property abutting Morrison Street to the north. It's also not only cars, but trucks and service vehicles that would have to get through there.

Perhaps not significant, but I certainly think that the loss of The Hive building at 544 King West will be problematic. A very handsome, if modest, structure.

The original plan, which would have kept this building (as it wasn't owned by the proponent at the time), was superior. It better kept the fine cadence of this heavily pedestrian street.

That's a facade I'd like to see moved closer to the sidewalk as part of a redevelopment here.

I think that's a boring resolution to hack the facade off and move it closer to the street. The current use for parking is atrocious but, it could be a quirky space even as a generic restuarant patio. Those are the spaces that separate these neighbourhoods from the master planned, one generation neighborhoods.
