This area is too upscale for a No Frills.

Why pay more for basics like milk, fruits and vegetables, and prepared foods? Just because I buy into an upscale area doesn't mean I throw an appreciation for savings and value out the window.

It's not even such an upscale area. It's mostly small condos surrounded by a neighbourhood of modest ranch bungalows and vast industrial parks. There's a Metro at Cloverdale Mall, but the Food Basics across the street is typically busy too.

The one at Peter and Richmond is pretty small..
That's because that store is not a Loblaws.

Found this link. Has good statistical data. Of interest, it pinpoints all the grocery stores in the neighbourhood.

Any comments about the data?

Click on Points of Interest and move the slider to a 5km radius and see all the grocery store options.
I find that it's not really the best map for pin pointing grocery stores (ie: it doesnt point out smaller stores like Valu-Mart and No Frills for starters).

^^^ It looks like they are getting ready for some serious mega concrete pouring shortly.

If you look at the pictures carefully the rebar placement indicates major volume/thickness to prepare the 3 storey podium/retail, shipping/receiving, and building infrastructure support.

Edit: Not to detract from this thread but I'm curious if the steel and rebar ordered for this building was purchased (in advance) before the steel tariffs kicked in?

Steel Rebar roll in Canada. Same for most steel beams. Both can be imported off shore cheaper than the US without the tariffs.
