Wow! If they took down the crane how are they going to get the windows to the top two floors? I guess they can use the elevator?

Question: Do you guys think they will finish this building on schedule.

As as aside, I wonder if rising energy costs will kill off glass walls and herald a return to tall narrow windows surrounded by some well-insulated brick?

This just might be a glimpse of the not too distant future......

there are types of vacuum insulated glass that insulate just as well as standard brick walls

yes but not usually used by developers because of cost, plus AFAIK the aluminum frames used for condos aren't as well insulated as the vinyl framed casements.
 
The Red and grey brick is a nice touch! It will be interested to see pictures of the whole west face if possible once the bricking is done. As for the windows I think you see brick here because Sorbara wanted to keep the building blending in with the rest of the street. I am not sure if you are going to see condos go back to brick. Maybe on some smaller projects.
