Does seem like a mistake on Vrancor's site. Goes to show how similar all the designs of the buildings are....Must be a mistake? This is literally one of the renders for 213 King St W
So why is the Escarpment limit still a thing? What is the reason it hasn’t officially died?Unless this site is in a deep pit, the City won't take kindly to breaking the escarpment height!
Completely silly IMHO, never got the logic. If I am standing on the edge of the escarpment and looking out, anything with height blocks the view of the harbour or Lake Ontario. If they were worried that a building in the lower city would block the view of the escarpment, think they missed that boat, also any new build would have to be much much lower than 30 stories. And what if a developer wants to build on the top edge of the escarpment, so no height? So why is the Escarpment limit still a thing? What is the reason it hasn’t officially died?
This new plan seems like a settlement design to make the neighbours on the west side of the property happy. I assume that means the city will allow the height limit to be exceeded as this is likely a direct result of the neighbour group.Notice of revised plans for this site have been circulated by the Shadow Dwellers. I'm on their mailing list. Won't copy the email content except these 2 screen grabs and a Link to numerous newer documents on the city's portal. We are told the link will be inactive after a week or so. Better grab the files while you can if you want to review them.
