The micro-retail there should not be Gateway Newstands, since there's already one within the fare zone. Unfortunately, it is quite likely that there would be a Gateway Newstands there. A café would be excellent.

I have no problem with the design or retail component of this proposal. However with the constant coming and going of noisy and smelly buses I wonder if a daycare is the best fit for this spot?

That station is served by one bus, which runs every twenty minutes at peak and every half hour off-peak. I think they'll be fine.
