From across the street, I think these facades are going to look very "tacked on". But better that than losing them entirely.

Yeah truthfully the facade will be the only original structure, everything from there back will be retrofitted

nope, the interiors will be extensively renovated but the original wooden structure is going to remain. It is not a facade in any way.

Wow, hard to believe, usually they just strip everything to the bare original walls and go from there with everything new...keep old wooden crooked floors and slat walls?, strange

they will be stripping it to the studs. But they will be keeping the studs.

The anticipation of the cladding is killing me.
I'm wondering if this is one of those buildings where we'll see a number of test pieces go up first because of its untested nature, then have to wait months for the settled-upon design to be manufactured.
Or maybe not, maybe it's all been figured out to their satisfaction already.
Either way, luckily we have plenty of other projects to distract us while we wait!

I believe we are on to regular floors now, no? Hopefully this starts to finally pick up some speed now.

As seen from last few photos by WillWu today, the FlyingTables are now being utilized! They seem to be starting Table-Form/Flying-Form (something TMG builder specialize in),... hence concrete forming should progress at about 1 floor every 1-1.5 weeks,.... thus, I would expect this project to top out in early-Spring 2019 and complete by around Summer-Fall 2019. And then Bazis will ride off into the sunset back to Kazakhstan.
