Oh wow, thanks for sharing. Porter landings are becoming the photographic holy grail around here, and each one I see blows my mind a bit more than the last.

I also had some shots taken from the York garage, but management made me delete them because apparently photography isn't allowed up on the roof anymore.

Management made you delete photos? I don't think they had any right to make you do that. Download a free data recovery program before you take any more pictures! I've used iCare Data Recovery Free in the past.

They saw me while I was on the roof and intercepted me in the elevator. A lady came up to me and claimed that photography isn't permitted because the garage is private property. I was led into their office and I had to show them that I was deleting all the photos on my camera that I had took while I was up there.

Private security frequently oversteps its bounds in this way. I once had security confront me on a public sidewalk for allegedly photographing a CAMH building near College & Spadina. Ridiculous.

Same here. If they try to escort you to an office, tell them to call the police and wait outside the property line. Gotta know your rights. I was out shooting with a friend yesterday and some fortune teller was eating at her booth on Queen just east of Spadina. My friend takes a photo of the streetscape (which she happened to be part of) and she starts marching over yelling about how "eating is a sacred and private moment" and that he must delete the photo (she said cancel the photo, which I found rather amusing). When you want privacy while eating, don't eat in a frilly fortune teller booth on a busy street during Friday rush hour. And then she had the nerve to question our morals - a woman who blatantly lies to people for a living giving them false hope is questioning the morality of taking photos of a streetscape.
Sorry for the rant, my point is never delete a photo unless you are absolutely sure you have done something wrong.
