Yes, you are right. But don't you think that the top three mechanical floors were supposed to be kind of narrower , as it is now the mechanical floors are very close to the fins.

The foot of University there is becoming one of the best skyline shots Toronto has. Since this city is on such a relatively strict grid, we don't get too much skyscraper clustering like you get in, say, the Financial District in Manhattan, where the streets are non-linear. This is one of the few angles where we do, and it makes the city feel bigger than it perhaps really is.
 
is there a damping mechanism going into the mechanical area?

It seems a three story mechanical secion is large for such a slender, residential building.

Will look even more impressive once 10 York fills in the gap between the two Ice towers.

+1. Ice's impact along University (and the skyline) has been an awesome surprise!. Now imagine if a 400m skyscraper were built where the current Citi building is at the foot of University. it would have stunning effect, kinda like Trump Chicago
