Tories blamed for coming deficits

This is exactly what concerns me:

[/B]But it makes no earthly sense to be attacking the govenment for running a deficit in one breath, and calling on it to do so with the next. [/B]

Times like these require all the parties in the house to work together. Tactics like these might win a few votes but they'll also contribute to delays in decision-making and a delay in making the right decision: to run a deficit.

Arguing over the GST cut now is futile unless the opposition wants the government to raise the tax. And that's probably not the wisest course of action. Heck, even the Labour government in the UK is cutting its VAT from 17.5% to 15%. Albeit for 13 months. Something we should consider as well, I think....a GST holiday with perhaps a return to 7% at the end of the holiday.

My Christmas wish is for the opposition to work with the government to get a deficit budget passed as soon as possible...and one which includes lots of stimulus. As for the criticism over the GST cut and the deficit....save it for election time.
