Transit Toronto has an article about Peel region studying transit oriented development.
"The Region of Peel is conducting a major transit station areas study to establish policies that support developing complete communities in Peel by planning for higher-density mixed-use growth in areas with current or future transit (for example: GO Transit stations, light rail transit and bus rapid transit.)
The Region considers major transit station areas (MTSAs) as lands within a 500-to-800-metre radius (a 10-minute walk) of a transit station or stop. It intends to encourage developers to build high-density, mixed-use, transit-supportive neighbourhoods that provide access to local amenities, jobs, housing and recreation opportunities in these areas."
