Unless the Koodo advertising counts.

The Koodo ad outside TLS rocks! It takes up two ad spaces and is colourful ... and BIG! A sign of things to come. Advertisers are wringing their hands in anticipation of the big ad budget season during xmas.

Sliding doors are fine for emergency egress. Even if they lose power you just have to push on them a little bit and they'll open.

I doubt that would be to code. People rushing out of burning building aren't going to wait for doors to slide (if they work).

Sliding doors are the best for emergencies. When pushed, they are designed to simply come off the track and open outward. They open wider than a single door would, allowing more people to exit at once.

The problem with sliding doors is weather. Putting them next to a sidewalk where people are constantly walking by would mean they would be open most of the time... unless you set the sensor to open the door when your nose hits the glass.

You forgot to use the approved UT visual aid.

it will be funny to see Ryerson/UFT students in there...

The HMV next door has sliding doors and they seem to work just fine.

Not really. HMV can't be very energy efficient with doors that fly open when you merely look at them. When the is street busy with people walking by (which is almost all of the time), the doors open over and over.

So apparently the Shoppers Drug Mart, a Bubble Tea joint and a Subway (like Jared, not the TTC) are opening next Tuesday in the basement.
