Things don't look good here, all the heavy equipment has been removed from the site.

That's pretty odd... to just stop demolitions in the middle of things. You'd think that they would have worked out any issues with the TTC in the past couple of months. I hope someone can find an update for the situation.

Although from that picture taken from on top of the subway tracks I can see why the TTC would have a problem. If any part of that wall falls on the tracks while trains are in operation, it could kill a lot of people.

PURPOSE OF THE APPLICATION:
To alter the redevelopment plan approved under By-law 101-2003, as modified by the Committee of Adjustment
in Decision No. A0620/06TEY, by increasing the ceiling heights for floors 33-36 of the approved 37-storey
residential condominium building. The site is located east of Yonge Street on the north side of Church Street.
REQUESTED VARIANCE(S) TO THE ZONING BY-LAW:
Section 1 (e), Site Specific By-law 101-2003
The maximum permitted height of the building is 75.6 m (Approved Map 2B, By-law 101-2003).
Decision A0620/06TEY, permitted a building height of 111.2 m with 7.5 m mechanical penthouse (a total of
118.7 m), and replaced Approved Maps 2A & 2B, By-law 101-2003 with the submitted Plan 2A and deleted all
reference to Approved Map Plan 2B, By-law 101-2003.
In this case, the height of building will be 112.73 m with 7.5 m mechanical penthouse, for a total of 120.23 m;
Plan 2A approved under A0620/06TEY will be replaced with the "Revised Zoning Map-Plan 2A” submitted
with this application.

I went into the sales office to enquire about the delay and the lady confirmed they are indeed having trouble with the TTC. No word on a resolution.

Looks like they finally worked something out with the TTC. Judging by the heavy duty lights on site (pic 2), they'll be doing the work at night when the subways stop running.

Something about Mr. Gorbachev comes to mind. I can't imagine how frustrated the buyers in this building must be at this point.

its too bad they couldnt have sorted out the demolition during the sales phase... ah well, eventually it'll be a nice addition to the "NoYo" skyline!

Shouldn't that be (the unfortunate sounding) NoBlo... as in North of Bloor? Since it is riffing on SOHO in New York, which means South of Houston.
