The ATL - love it or hate it?

The exurban sprawl is hidden under extremely dense (the only thing that's dense in Atlanta is the tree cover) foliage so that when you fly in, the city kind of looks like Angkor Wat or Chichen Itza - a huddle of imposing buildings surrounded by dense forest growth.

Off topic, but thanks for writing that. Very vivid and engaging descriptions - both conveys the amount of foliage and also communicates a sense of a "lost" city.

And when I was there, I knew a lot of gay people. I didn't know the stat about the 3rd largest population, but at where I was working they were very open and well accepted.

^I wonder if that has anything to do with the tree species. In the back of my mind I recall hearing that the tree canopy in these southern US cities was higher then here.
