I am baffled by some of the negative comments directed towards the people who organized and partricipated in the Transit Camp. I did not attend the event but I think it was wonderful that people were trying to do something different and positive, rather than sit back and complain.
I think having the event at the Gladstone was ideal, but certainly doesn't prevent future events from taking place in other parts of the city. The "Camp" format is new, and tends to have certain uptake amongst a tech-literate community. That doesn't mean it was restrictive, in fact openness is a major underpinning of such events.
