I remember this old article: https://nationalpost.com/posted-toronto/manager-not-sold-on-path-to-torontos-trump-hotel

They should finally open up the walled off PATH connection. IMO, an important distinguishing feature of this building is its proximity to the financial district, both for the residences and for the hotel. This is a benefit for those with the financial means that work in the area and for those visitors doing business in the area.

The previous Trump management seemed to have it in their heads that they, either or both, needed to keep the riff raff out and that it was beneath patrons of their hotel brand, or those living in the associated residences, to walk. It is actually far more inconvenient to try to take a taxi or limousine a couple of blocks, especially when Adelaide is a one-way street and right or left turns are not allowed on Bay and Yonge in the core.

Of course, it's easier to walk, but why deal with crossing the streets in traffic and sometimes inclement weather when they could just open up their PATH connection?

well does anyone knows if that wall path is supporting any structure or its by it own.. if so let trump remove it.. he build it and now fix the mistake..

It boils down to money, who pays for what and how much. It costs millions to build and maintain that PATH connection.

FT has been investigating the money behind Trump Toronto for 10 months. Legal docs, signed statements and two dozen interviews reveal that the venture connects Trump with a shadowy post-Soviet world where politics and personal enrichment merge.

The article hinted that the complex financing deal may have broken Canadian anti-bribery laws - perhaps it is something law-enforcement authorities should be looking into - or better yet - make an example of?

Canadian anti-bribery laws are more like a footnote to the possible significance of this story. This is potentially much worse than Watergate.
