St Lawrence Market

That stretch of Queen could really use this. Still, it's more a new Corktown branch than a relocated St. Lawrence one.
I was under the impression St Lawrence was maintaining its current branch and the branch at Queen & Parliament would be net-new.

Some scaffolding was removed a few weeks ago and new scaffolding was added this week.
Ready for the winter? I’m not sure what the long or short white sock is for.

Very odd, I had assumed we would start seeing more scaffolding being removed but .... As far as I know (and from the photos above in this thread) it looks as though the roofing is all complete - if they were still roofing the 'white sock' could be a tube to dispose of debris.. We look forward to your next posts on this, it looks good so far but ....

I guess the work on the vault outside Metro is finally done. They still have it blocked off but now it's a temporary Christmas Tree shop.

Yes, the rebuilding of the hydro vault at 80 Front Street is finally done, it was noted here a few days ago. Though Metro may, as always, have some trees at and outside the front door of their store, the Christmas Tree place (Jeff the Christmas Tree Guy ) is, as for many years, at Market Lane Park.

I may have been hallucinating, I was out late last night, but when I went by this morning they had built a wooden pen with gated access on the area over the vault that had a few dozen trees in it.

Interesting, Metro have never done that in the past (they have piled them near their doors) but it is private space so I guess they can do what they want. I will have to take look!

I looked and you appear to have been confused. The Metro trees are where they have been for the last 20 years and Jeff the Christmas Tree Guy is in his customary spot at Market lane Park.

It was definitely the Metro location.

Perhaps they have rigged up something to lock them up at overnight until the store opens in the morning. I was going by a bit before 8:00 a.m.

The white fabric is clearly the winter protection and is covering the scaffolding (and why the scaffold was raised above the roof- line)

I assume they will heat the work area and are now working on brickwork and maybe windows. Clearly they are not done yet,!

Here is ashot of the FlatIron putting on its winter coat!

I wonder if the green stuff was fire rated? Maybe just a coincidence as @DSCToronto mentioned this is for the winter. Now is the white stuff fire rated?
No fancy murals on the wrapping like some other cities.
