Interesting. I was there today and missed it.
A few notes:
–I asked around about what will be occupying the former Empire/Landmark theatre space. The person at the management office said they are still in discussions, although it will "compete with the Holt Renfrew wing". I asked if it's "Bloomingdales". "Bloomingdales is good but this is going to be even better". "Saks?" Awkward freeze... smile. "You'll see, it's going to be great." Make of that what you will, but I think we can expect a large luxury retailer moving in by 2016.
–L'Occitane en Provence opened today. Store was PACKED.
–Target has wrapped the glass Cityside entrance with a winter-themed ad.
Suggestions as to who it could be?
I don't think Walmart will be leaving anytime soon (I might be wrong about this, but isn't SQ1 one of their best performing locations in Canada?). Although I'm a fan of Target I, for one, would sorely miss the convenience of having a Walmart inside the mall.
I guess it will have an exterior entrance now.Dollarama has closed.
According to the sign posted, their new location will be by "Entrance 8" and will be opened in the fall.
That's pretty awesome! And will bring more people to this end of the mall.Looks like Urban Outfitters is taking the space of Rocky Mountain, Panda Shoes, Apollon, Bellissima and Tilley Endurables.
