It's a great looking bridge. It is a shame though that the north side was not afforded the glass treatment. I would have been thrilling for pedestrians and Go passengers alike. Also, it would be less of a visual barrier between the core and the waterfront.
Move in for PWC is well under way. A family member of mine moved in (from former offices at Royal Trust Tower) just before the holidays.. She described the building as having a more "open-concept" feel to the main office levels.
Walked upstairs yesterday and got a peak at the second and third floor public spaces. Here's what the terraces look like . This one's gonna be a big update.
Retail space connected to the second floor PATH. I think this space was designed with the intention of having a restaurant and a patio.
Imagine, when Bremner Tower and ICE are complete, what a view this will be looking south between the towers!
Walking upstairs to the third floor terrace, you can see some well thought out wayfinder lighting underneath the handrails.
Arrived upstairs! What a space this will be in the summer .
Landscaping and seating. Shangri La reflects nicely off the granite too.

I miss taking a few shots I wanted to take as I got caught up in taking other shots or too many people in the way. Didn't take a photo of the sign as it was upside down.
You get a nice view from the deck area and only from the building itself as it is close from the street. Nice view looking south from the bridge and more so once ICE is in place. It is also nice to get a real good view of Royal York as well the train shed with the new canopy going up. Have photos of the canopy in the shed thread and on the site.
So there's two levels of terraces? Are they accessible? Also, did you see how they're going to connect with Bremner Tower in the future? Right now those concrete walls look like they're not going anywhere, but I'm sure they thought of that
Thank you so much for that amazing photo-tour. Really great. I'm going to have to go see this space for myself now. I, too, love little touches like the handrail's underlighting. Great stuff
Permanent art exhibit in Toronto bridges tower to Union Station
A permanent public art exhibit by renowned artist James Carpenter was unveiled at 18 York Street that connects Southcore Financial Centre to Union Station via a bridge spanning York Street.
The unveiling took place during a cocktail reception that included live music and speeches from Adam Vaughan, Paul Finkbeiner and James Carpenter.
City Councillor Adam Vaughan said the project was six years in the making. Part of Toronto's city building plan Southcore Financial Centre is one of the newest high profile buildings in the city. Just past the Gardiner underpass going towards Lake Ontario the building provides easy access to transit and the rest of the downtown core.
Please don't tell me they just hosted an unveiling ceremony for some LED lights in an above-ground walkway (and called it an 'art exhibition'). PLEASE.
It's in the bridge. The glass wall on the north side is textured, and I guess in combination with the lighting behind it it's supposed to evoke the lake. drum's third picture up above shows it. When I walked by it I assumed they just used obscure glass there so that you wouldn't have to see the ugly train tracks
