Sectionals/Sofas

There are 2 versions of the Delano chair.

There's the delano chair and the delano chair XL which is bigger.

I believe the regular delano chair goes for 12-1400 in leather. A couple months back stylegarage auctioned off a bunch of their pieces. The delano chair bidding finished at just under $600. Great deal huh?

that sounded like a sweet deal ... oh well, next time :D

The regular Delano is $950 and the other starts at $1400. The difference between the two is that the second one can be customized is is hand done, whereas the other one is only available in white/black/espresso leather. Personally, I can't tell the difference between the two. I've seen the Delano chair at other shops as low as $600 in pvc (which most people can't tell isn't leather).

Also, Green Sofa is great, but they've changed their name to Autumn Hill Upholstery Co.. http://autumnhillupholsteryco.blogspot.com/

Right $950 all the way up to $2K The XL starts at 2K and the difference between the two is the steel frame is thicker/wide, there is more cushion and the chair is a few inches bigger.

Hmm, an update, apparently Gus* now has the Jane Bi-sectional (which earlier posters were raving about) in condo/loft sizes now(W82"xD65"xH30" as opposed to the original W103"XD72"XH30"). Gotta find out the pricing (I'm looking at the flyer, Winter-Spring 2010). Too bad all the swatches are pretty much variances in grey only.

Anyone have a favorite fabric swatch? I read online someone had "Lato Ash", and while they were wiping a stain, they noticed the next day that the fabric had smudged. Available swatches are Coburg Dune, Coburg Soapstone, Totem Storm, Billiards flint, and Urban Tweed Ink, oddly enough, the "Lato Ash" is specifically NOT available with the loft-sized Jane.

Stylegarage is next door to the Gus* store and also carries most of the Gus* line.
Their other sofas are little nicer and the size and upholstery could be customized.
All of the sofas are quality built in Canada using solid hardwood frames.

They occasionally have killer sales on their floor models. I really like their furniture as it's scaled to suit condos (most of their sofas are in the 78"-83" length range).

They just had a sample sale recently, a lot of nice stuff for a fraction of the price. Keep your eyes open for the next one.

Thanks for looking out JayBee.

For those with experience with the Jane bi-sectional, can anyone tell me about the durability with the buttons? Do they get loose? If they came off, how easy is it to remedy. It's the only thing I'm really hesistant about.

The Green Sofa store in Vaughan (Jane & Langstaff) is still called Green Sofa http://greensofadesign.com/. I was there last week and I was impressed with their sofas.
The quality was very nice and they could custom do anything (everything is produced onsite). Ellen, the salesperson there was a pleasure to deal with. I think I will get my sofa there eventually. They are also expanding to include custom furniture (coffee tables, entertainment units, headboards, etc.).

lol stilll hunting....any cool new furniture stores to check out? Has Montreal based Domison opened yet?

We ended up going with custom made because we couldn't find anything that we both liked. I found that a lot of sectionals were too "deep" and I couldn't sit properly without propping myself up with a bunch of cushions.

If you don't mind me asking PinkLucy, what range does a custom piece go for? And what are some places to get quality custom jobs done? That's an option I haven't considered but may be headed towards.

We went to Markham Furniture; they range anywhere from around $1000 to $10000 -- depends on size, material chosen, etc. etc.
