Rob Ford's Toronto

We need to be careful. Ford can win, and he's already made this election all about himself. Even if we discount Forum polls, we need to take that 32 percent seriously.

At this point, I would be willing to shift my vote out of Socknacki's camp to ensure that Ford doesn't get back in.

Everyone: I found these opinions very interesting - and a cause for concern - for Toronto voters that want to ensure that RF can not be re-elected...

Again I say that a split vote that could see RF get re-elected is a travesty - but - there are two ways that this can be prevented:

First: A single strong unifying candidate and Second: A huge turnout by anti-RF voters...

I'm more interested to see the fallout the school suffers right now. They had this record of unprofessional behaviour, yet they continued to keep him employed. I wonder if the principal will be forced to resign, and if the school itself gets sued by the parents of the players.
I read the documents released by the board and assume you haven't. Otherwise you would not have made such a speculative comment about the principal who was raising the alarm in no uncertain terms months before the board acted. He acted with honour. Next time, read the information available before giving "your opinion". What the staff and adminstration went through because of Ford was horrific. Meanwhile, their board , especially Sal Piccininni. the trustee, fought hard against all efforts to remove Ford from his volunteer position.

I'll hold my nose and vote for Tory if I have to, but it's pretty sad if on election day our only choices are between a conservative and a mentally ill super-conservative. I mean, for an allegedly progressive city, that's pretty bad.

France. 2002. Chirac vs Le Pen. Just saying.

So Bill Blair personally signed Rob Fords police records check in Sept 2012?
What about all the calls to his house concerning spousal abuse?
Drug connections? DUI Convictions?

What was he thinking?

He hadn't seen the crack video yet, remember.

This council terms ends with broken voting machine, giddy & tired councillors and Rob Ford as the lone wolf #TOpoli

Seems very appropriate.

Can't believe we survived this interminable four years. Here's hoping the dancing bear circus is well & truly over. No more Rob, no more Doug, no more Nunz, and a pile of new councillors.

Doug Pantson-Fyre tod-toddlin’ to Chicago?

As in leaving K and the 4 Ks in the Etobicoke ‘hood? :p

Given his public performances in T.O., he might need to work where his reputation doesn’t precede him. Try to imagine being a customer, if you can stand it:

“You ordered 100,000 labels? No you didn’t. Where do you get this stuff? Liar! It was a million. No, wait, it was a billion! Yeah, that’s right, and I’m sending Pricey over with the bill. Cash on delivery would be appreciated, if you know what I’m sayin’ and I think you do. Be careful what you write or say, cuz I’ll sue!†yadda yadda

You can stick your stickers, thanks.

I don't get the feeling they spend a lot of time there as it is. They'd probably be thrilled to be based in the U.S.

I'm not so certain about the "no more Nunz" prospect--though w/o the Fords, she'd at least be mitigated.

Dunno if it was the link or what, the released high school drama script has some duplicate pages, but it's so worth combing through. Ugo Rossi and John Yan seems like they need all the support and sympathy for what they went through. It's an emotionally draining role. Sal Piccinini does a wonderful impression of a Ford enabler, ditto with Joe the custodian, which may or may not be friends with Sal the trustee. (Jeebus we need a thick program booklet just to keep up with all these supporting characters) Coach Rob is basically doing the same role as always. Bully extraordinaire and 'I do what I want and no ones gonna stop me!'. Just a textbook example of a classic pantomime villain you love to hiss and boo at. Big Brother Thug seems to like to play the big bro enforcer role yet again. I'd warn against typecasting, but some people just naturally gravitates to certain kinds of roles I guess.

There's a lot of gold nuggets to sift through this dramatic script, hey here's one for example, on pg. 2.

After the practice in september, the mayor encourages players to provide a "human shield" to escort him to his car to avoid reporters. The incident potentially could have resulted in injury to either student players or reporters.

pg 4
Brought the kids to a friday night Argo's game vs Winnipeg this was not a school sanctioned event and the boys were involved in a huge fight. Some of our kids were injured.

Rest of merryl candidates, please read and review this document for the next episode of 'Toronto's Next Top Merryl'.

If you can't or won't do that, I don't even know why you're still in this audition.

When they printed out each email they included full message histories, so earlier emails in the threads tend to get repeated. It's also confusing because it was scanned double-sided even though most items were printed single-sided.
