Rob Ford is coming to Vancouver this weekend

The Rob Ford sideshow is coming to town.

The embattled Toronto mayor told The Sports Junkies radio show that he and his family will be in Vancouver for a funeral over the weekend, and returning to Toronto on Sunday night.

“Unfortunately one of my friend’s mother passed away and she lived in Vancouver,†he said. “Actually, I’m getting someone to tape the Super Bowl because I’ll be on a plane.â€

Is Scarborough under served with transit versus Etobicoke? More transit is needed in the west, in my opinion because York and the airport are in the west. Why is Scarborough getting a subway before northern Etobicoke anyway?

Why is anyone getting a subway before the DRL? Why does it always have to be subways or nothing?

I always wondered a bit about families that called their kids "so-and-so II", "so-and-so the III" etc... I mean, how would you like to be called "Ted Bundy II" or "O.J. Simpson II" ?

It's always seemed like hubris and/or lack of imagination to me. Especially the II, III, etc., as if your family is royalty and we're supposed to know/care who the first guy was.

That's ridiculous. And I don't even understand why Stintz is saying there's no going back to the LRT. We already have the EA, we already have Bombardier itching to make those trainsets instead of just getting paid for the sunk costs.

Jesus this whole thing frustrates me. Why can't we let experts do transit planning instead of politicians, like so many other cities do successfully?

I don't get why she's calling it a 'two-stop' LRT that's 'not yet proven'. And of course the existing subway and SRT already go to, and are in, Scarborough.

I was listening to the audio of the youtube clip without yet looking up at the screen and when Nunziata came up, I swore Andrea Martin was talking.

She really is an idiot. According to her, she was proud of him cutting back the expenses in watering plants. Yes -- needless expenses are a waste of money, but how about a mayor that really sees the big picture and has some vision instead of constantly mucking around in the small stuff

If City Hall shenanigans continue, I believe council will need a much bigger bag...

Shiner just brought out something labelled a "Bullshit Bag" and then stuck Matlow's motion inside of it.

I already had no respect for Shiner for agitating against the Fort York bridge (it would have displaced his pet-project charity) but that's a dumb stunt of Mammolitian proportions.

It just seems that the whole bunch of them are getting sillier and more juvenile each day. I suppose that is the legacy of Rob Ford and people being worn down to his level.

Former football players coached by Mayor Ford linked to serious crimes

"At least four former star players from the mayor’s Don Bosco Eagles high school football team have either been convicted of, or charged, with offences including home invasion, armed robbery and assault causing bodily harm."

... "Covering their faces with T-shirts, the two former Don Bosco linemen demanded money and drugs from their victim ... The victim was bound, and repeatedly kicked and punched. He was slashed with a butcher’s knife several times and suffered significant blood loss, later requiring multiple staples to close his wounds."

... "The public endorsement [of mayoral candidate Rob Ford in 2010] by Mr. Swaby was made just six months after he is alleged to have participated in the late-night beating [and death] of Christopher Skinner in the entertainment district of Toronto."

... "another 'dominating lineman,' according to the court testimony of Mr. Ford, was sentenced to five years in prison for the robbery of a taxi driver with a sawed-off shotgun."
