It originally looked like the man to shake up the race would be Doug Ford, second-place finisher in the 2014 Toronto mayoral race and brother to Rob Ford. But that rumour has stalled.

O'Leary's potential candidacy is being welcomed by Doug Ford, who is himself contemplating running for the Tory leadership.

"I like Kevin," Ford told NEWSTALK 1010 Thursday. "He's a good guy. I think he'd do a lot better job than who we have there right now. He has a business mind and he's no-nonsense."

While Ford says he hasn't decided whether or not to run himself, he wouldn't be bothered by O'Leary jumping in.

"I encourage as many people to run as possible and get the word out there, that's what's important. (To) make sure that we stick with our Conservative values."

Is he referring to Rona Ambrose? Shots fired! :p
But according to PC party rules the interim leader is not allowed to run for the permanent job . What's his beef with her anyways? What's the point of crapping on the interim person, they have a tough job to do, especially after the CPC got trounced. You'd never see a Ford taking such a thankless job that limits your opportunities for advancing your own career and promoting yourself.
