More than 500 people attended Friday night’s edition at 2200 Islington Ave., hosted by the Ford family as a way to get the community together with kiddie rides, a live band, free barbecue and a meet-and-greet with the former mayor.

eta: the national post has a different number...
On Friday night, more than a thousand people braved the coldest evening of the new autumn to pick up Ford T-shirts and eat free food at the annual Ford Fest BBQ.

evvabeing - re Rob's "broken toe"; sorry, but you seem to be our archivist!

Where on the timeline is this compared to the photo in CH underground garage where he has to be dragged/carried to Doug's SUV, where Rob's leg does the weird up & down thing trying to get into the car? And its the same side as the surgery, right?

IIRC Doug's story about the abdominal pain was that he and Rob went to breakfast and he, Doug, had to insist Rob go to the hospital. (If you had abdominal pain would you stop for breakfast on the way to getting medical care?) Keeping track of the details which keep changing in their revisionist retelling is like being lost in a maze, specially now with Robbies' serial lurid confessions of his pathetic life. This goes beyond attention seeking. I'm wondering about serious brain damage.

I think you're reading that too literally. He went to rehab because he got caught (the One Wild Night Toronto Star story, the audio recording from the bar). But just going to rehab doesn't guarantee that you'll stay clean, or that you've dealt with all of your issues. It takes longer for many people.

In Ford's case, there's good evidence to suggest he didn't even stay clean in rehab, and he certainly didn't sound like he was taking responsibility or turning over a new leaf afterwards. It's very possible that the cancer news last September came just in time to prevent him from starting to go on full-blown benders again.

However, if he never truly dealt with his issues, it seems inevitable that at some point the behaviour will return.

Which is why I don't trust him or his farklempt monologues.

City to push for suspension of Muzik's liquor licence
City council has voted in favour of asking the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario to suspend the liquor licence of an Exhibition Place club that was the site of a deadly shooting in August.

In a vote on Friday afternoon, council directed the City Solicitor to request that Muzik nightclub’s liquor licence be suspended or revoked.

The motion approved by council stated that “the past and present conduct of the licensee” suggests “that the business will not be operating in accordance with the law” going forward. The motion also accused the licensee of “carrying on activities that are in contravention of the Liquor Licence Act or its regulations” and concluded that the “operation of the business is not in the public interest.”

easter monday, which was april 21st, and it was his left side (fwiw, his right ankle is what made him fall off the scale and fall when throwing the football)...

Ford had 'muscle spasms,' but wasn't 'intoxicated' as newly released report suggests: Doug Ford
Mayor Rob Ford had another “intoxicated” night at City Hall on Easter Monday, according to a newly released security report.

But Councillor Doug Ford claimed Friday that the mayor wasn’t “intoxicated” that night.

“He had muscle spasms in his legs but that is about as far as I saw,” Ford told the Toronto Sun.

According to a report filed by an unnamed security guard on duty April 21, Rob Ford appeared “intoxicated” and spent around an hour in the his office with an unknown woman. He was helped out of the building by his brother and campaign manager, the report stated

Security camera footage from that night shows Ford staggering as he is led into the underground parking garage by his brother and security guard Mike Toolaram, then stumbling onto the parking garage floor before being helped into the passenger seat of his Cadillac Escalade.

The report and video, released by the city through a Freedom of Information request, is the latest in a long line of bizarre late-night incidents at City Hall involving the embattled mayor.

Days after the Easter Monday episode, Ford took a leave of absence and entered rehab for an admitted “problem with alcohol.”

it's alleged to have happened while he was in rehab, so the sit-in people wouldn't have seen it.

but in july of that year. doug claimed it happened in june....

personally, i believe he hurt it in may, and he wasn't back at city hall until june 30th, so basically july.

It's all ways alleged with the Fords; I do remember the reference of Robbie wearing business shoes with a "broken" toe. He must have been at least rocking the prescription meds.

fuck, fuck, fuck... he just might be mayor again after all!!
This time, there was no chance for public input before rookie Councillor Justin Di Ciano proposed that Toronto reverse its stand. The motion, part of debate on proposed changes to the City of Toronto Act, passed 25-18, with the support of seven councillors who reversed their earlier support for ranked ballots.

Having barely beaten back Fordist Justin Di Ciano in the last election by fewer than 70 votes, Milczyn doesn't want to appear to be distancing himself too much from the mayor. (Nota bene: Di Ciano is a good friend of former Ford chief of staff Nick Kouvalis).

and it looks like he's shady...
