On the campaign altercation front:
If you're volunteering for Rob Ford, you have to be aware of the negative feelings people in the city have towards him and therefore have to expect that the people walking through the doors aren't always going to be supporters. Benoit was being stupid, but he certainly wasn't the worst of what those volunteers could and probably do encounter. The Fords supporting the volunteer's actions is just going to encourage the volunteers to be aggressive with anyone who says negative things about Rob, who come to the campaign office to take photos, etc and so forth. They're setting themselves up for more physical confrontations this way. But that's pretty much par for the course with those two dumbbells.

Agreed. We don't want him jeopardizing his safety or, worse, (just kidding) a Ford arrest. He's giving us some hope while protecting what needs to be protected, and that's good enough for me,

Did Rob Ford even attend? Or did he ditch early? The Canadian Sport Institute Ontario posted a bunch of pictures to Facebook and I see mark grimes and the Mp but no Ford.
