Besides, I've also dismissed Smitherman as mayoral material. The guy isn't the kind of consensus politician who will make a good mayor ... like Miller or Tory.
^ Which is why I'm inclining towards Thomson. Women are naturally better consensus builders than men. A bunch of guys in a shouting match amongst themselves are simply being male. A bunch of men shouting at a woman just come across as (and feel like) a bunch of douches.
Mississauga city council is a pretty good example. I'm not going to compare Thomson to Hazel, but Toronto could certainly use less testosterone.
If you've heard her speak, she's very soft spoken which has an odd effect of making you pay closer attention. Despite her soft voice, she's assertive and people follow her lead.
Rob Ford is the complete opposite of the scale. His whiny voice would make me cover my ears and run around council singing "la la la la".
