Road Safety & Vision Zero Plan

College Dundas Intersection Improvements

The City is planning to replace TTC streetcar tracks and reconstruct local roads at the intersection of College Street and Dundas Street West. This planned work presents an opportunity for additional safety improvements and enhancement of public space in the project area. Proposed changes include new traffic signals at the intersection of College St. and Dundas St. West, improved pedestrian and bicycle crossings, closure of a segment of St. Helens Ave. at College St., and installation of features to enhance the closed segment of the road.

"“The Way Forward,” was developed by a group of corporate heavyweights working under the joint leadership of Pringle and Saunders. It was the culmination of a process began in 2010–2011 when then- chief Bill Blair was directed by the TPSB to conduct a comprehensive organizational review to find savings in policing costs. In a discussion paper for the board’s consideration, I, as chair, spoke about developing a new model of policing consistent with contemporary needs and realities."

2010-2011 was during the reign of Rob Ford as Mayor (December 1, 2010 – November 30, 2014). Money was more important than safety for him and his followers, even today.

What good is having posted speed limits of 40 km/h when they continue to speed at or near or over 100 km/h?

...a car plummeted 20ft from a motorway flyover into a crowd of people - leaving one woman dead and six others injured.

Horrifying CCTV footage shows the car ploughing through safety barriers and off the edge of the flyover.

It landed on a group of pedestrians who were waiting at a bus stop in Hyderabad, Telangana in southern India on Saturday afternoon...

Instead of distributing reflective armbands, maybe the city should consider requiring pedestrians to wear a reflective yellow star on their clothing

I honestly am not sure which one is really The Beaverton.

Ironically, the mall where Cynthia Lai and the police were handing out armbands to seniors wast hit by motorists twice in the last two years:
