New article on the Hugh's Room Live's (music venue currently at 2261 Dundas St W) latest efforts to acquire the property at 296 Broadview Ave to move into:

I don't have Facebook, but apparently there is an "opening soon" Krispy Kreme sign on a Danforth storefront. This appears to be their second attempt at launching a bigger retail footprint in Toronto.

I was at their Bloor West Village location recently on a weekend and it appeared quite busy.

While riding the 72 Pape I spotted a new ugly fence around the beautiful historic home at Pape and Riverdale. I thought the house was heritage protected?

This seems to be 450 Pape and it is on the Register but I suspect that building a fence (even a large ugly one) is not against the law.

Here is what it looks like 'fenceless' - frankly not good! Is the parking lot even still part of the property?

Bevy Café is opening its third location at 401 Logan which is just north of Dundas East. Another retail strip emerging along Dundas East!

Does anyone know how many Greek restaurants closed down on The Danforth during and after COVID?

By my count the strip lost Pappa's Grill, The Palace and Atlantis. Akropolis also shut down due to the Ontario Line construction.

To be honest it all went downhill not long after the shooting. The closures of Cafe Frappe, the Greek nightclub (Fantasia) and Logo Bar in 2019 was the beginning of the end as those 3 places would bring a lot of the young Greek crowd to Danforth/Logan. Then Covid accelarated everything. The 2 Asterias are gone, Hunters is gone and another gyro joint closed cant remember the name. When did Atlantis close? That must be recent.

The Greek scene is gradually shifting to the Pape area now. Real shame i remember even 10 years ago going back to 2014 the Danforth was still a visually impressive Greektown.

According to Google, Atlantis is permanently closed. I forgot about Hunters! Also a victim of the Ontario Line construction. It was one of the last places where you could get a cheap breakfast on the Danforth. Another greasy spoon, Motorama at Jones, also closed around 2021.
